Rules for Nritya Taranga
This event encourages the preservation of traditional art forms and promote the rich heritage of Indian classical dance.
Team Composition
- Students from any branch are allowed to participate.
- Only one participant can participate.
Event Format
- The classical dance can be from any of the approved schools of dance such as Bharat Natyam, Kathak, Manipuri, Kuchipudi etc.
- Maximum 10 minutes.
- Pre-recorded music in MP3 format is to be submitted in a pendrive at the reporting time to the event incharge.
- Emphasis on authentic costumes and makeup relevant to the chosen classical dance forms.
- Props can be used at participants own risk
Judging Criteria
- Technique and Execution (e.g., footwork, Hand Gesture, Facial Expression) - 40%
- Rhythm and Tempo (e.g., Taala, laya) – 20%
- Costume and Makeup – 20%
- Overall presentation and stage presence – 20%
Prizes
- Winner prize : Cash prize with certificate.
- Runnerup prize : Cash prize with certificate.
- Participation certificates will be awarded to all participants.
