Rules for Sursangam
A musical event celebrating the diverse and vibrant traditions of Indian group singing.
Team Composition
- Students from any branch are allowed to participate.
- Technical and non-technical students can participate.
- Each participant can be part of only one team.
- Each team can have a group of 3-6 participants.
Event Format
- Total Duration: Each team gets 15 minutes, including setup and performance.
- Setup Time: Teams must complete their setup within the first 2–3 minutes.
- Performance Time: The actual singing performance should last 10–12 minutes.
- Wrap-up Time: Teams should conclude and clear the stage within the final 1–2 minutes.
- Time Limit Rule: Exceeding 15 minutes may result in penalties or disqualification.
- Team must choose songs from the following forms: Classical, Semi-Classical, Folk, Patriotic, or Devotional.
- Film songs are strictly not allowed.
- There are no language restrictions – you can perform in any Indian regional language or Hindi.
- Make sure your song selection follows these rules to ensure fair participation.
- Team must use live instrumental accompaniment or perform a cappella.
- Electronic instruments are allowed but should not overpower vocals.
- Pre-recorded tracks are strictly not allowed. Only live music is permitted during the performance.

- Group Coordination (20%)
- Song Selection & Interpretation (20%)
- Stage Presence & Presentation (20%)
Prizes
- Winner prize : Cash prize with certificate.
- Runnerup prize : Cash prize with certificate.
- Participation certificates will be awarded to all participants.
