Rules for Western Groove
To provide a platform for talented dancers to showcase their expertise in Western solo dance.To celebrate and promote diverse Western dance styles, including contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, and freestyle.To encourage creativity, self-expression, and innovation in dance performances.To deliver a high-energy and visually captivating experience for the audience.Team Composition
- Students from any branch are allowed to participate.
- Only one participant can participate.
Event Format
- The Western dance style can include any recognized forms such as Hip-Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, Freestyle, or any other modern dance genre
- Maximum 10 minutes.
- Pre-recorded music in MP3 format is to be submitted in a pendrive at the reporting time to the event incharge.
- Emphasis on authentic costumes and makeup relevant to the chosen classical dance forms.
- Props can be used at participants own risk
Judging Criteria
- Technique and Execution (e.g., footwork, Hand Gesture, Facial Expression) - 40%
- Rhythm and Tempo (e.g., Taala, laya) – 20%
- Costume and Makeup – 20%
- Overall presentation and stage presence – 20%
Prizes
- Winner prize : Cash prize with certificate.
- Runnerup prize : Cash prize with certificate.
- Participation certificates will be awarded to all participants.
